Does Kotor work on windows 7?

Does Kotor work on windows 7?

Recently I installed Knights of The Old Republic on Windows 7. The game’s installation went well and its icon displayed in the Start menu.
Unfortunately, KOTOR did not run. I had run it as administrator but this also did not solve the issue. It just “stops responding” as soon as the screen resolution changes.

I also have the same issue. I have installed KOTOR 1 and have so far not gotten it to work; I also downloaded and installed the patch that was released after it but no luck. I ran it in XP SP 2 compatibility mode, and as an administrator, then I ran the game and it crashed immediately crashes and stopped working. If anybody gets it to work please let me know!

I managed to run both KotOR and KotOR II on Windows 7. Kotor II, however, required to be launched in WinXP compatibility mode, but both works fine. I installed latest nvidia drivers from Windows Update. There are still some issues with KotOR2. KotOR2 is not very stable and hangs but at least does not crash.

Yes you are right it is certainly the drivers issue. Try to download the newest Nvidia drivers from Windows update and run it again. KotOR2 needs compatibility mode with XP sp2, but KotOR1 works as it is. They will both work a little bit unstable on first screen such as Bioware for KotOR1 and Obsidian for KotOR2, but once you' have gone through - they work well.
