I have recently installed Windows 7 but I come across a strange problem the next day. The gadgets that I loaded disappeared. How to fix the issue?

Your User Account Control should be turned on in order to install any development softwares.

This is all you have to do to activate your desktop gadgets.

1. Start->run->type regedit.exe.

2. Locate the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Sidebar\Settings

3. Right-click AllowElevatedProcess ->click Modify-> Set the value to 1.-> Close the registry editor. Your gadgets should work with UAC off now.

In order to fix it, you have to enter in the following registry key under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar\Settings
Create a DWORD entry:
Set value 1 to 'AllowElevatedProcess'
