This error occurs if windows 7 product key that you are trying to use has already been used on the maximum number of computers that your license allows.

This error "0xC004C008" could be due to one of the following reasons:

Your computer's hardware has been changed.

Win 7 was reinstalled on the same computer.

Your Win 7 product key was transferred from another computer.

The Wind7 product key has exceeded the activation limit.

If you have used all of the installations that your license allows and would like to add more, then you can purchase additional copies of Windows 7.

Wait, so what you are saying is that if a computer has had issues and the OS needs to be re-installed but has been used a certain number of times that Microsoft won't allow it? What the fuck kind of service is that? I paid $200 for this OS and first had it on a Laptop, then the Desktop I currently have and I have had to format and re-install on this a couple of times and now I can't activate it because it has been used to many times? Do they not take into consideration the times it has been uninstalled? No way in hell am I going to pay another $200 for a program I have already bought.
