What do I have to do to install GTA4 on my Windows 7?

I reinstalled through Steam and had no issues. Just downloaded and ran it.

Try to run the GTA4.exe in windows xp compatibilty

It works fine with Windows 7 64bit.
I played 4hours and no problems!
Click of the setup from the GTA 4 --> Compatibility à run the setup in (windows vista or winxp)

Navigate to the GTA4 main folder-->locate the installers folder -->install vcredist_x86.exe

Just tried installing GTA4 with Windows 7 but got error. Then tried running as Vista compatibility mode but again failed. Then tried running as windows XP sp2 compatibility mode and got success.
