After installing windows 7, I could not open the sites in Internet explorer. Each time I try to open a site, Internet explorer freezes.

Disable Add-ons to fix Internet explorer problem in windows

Postby melvin » Tue Sep 08, 2009 5:59 am

Here is a fix
1. Click Start -> All Programs ->Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. You can also use IE’s Manage Add-ons feature to disable specific add-ons:
Click Tools -> Internet Options->Program tab->Manage add-ons->select add-ons->Disable->OK->close IE

3. Restart IE normally and see if your problem is resolved.

Try SFC /SCANNOW

Postby duncan » Thu Sep 10, 2009 5:07 pm

It could be your corrupted system files resulting in your IE problem. You should try SFC /SCANNOW command from command prompt. If your DLL cache has been corrupted you may be asked to insert your windows7 Disc for restoring corrupted DLL files from the OS Disc. This can take 30 minutes.
