Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 7 installed and got this error when trying to sync my iPhone with iTunes.

More often the phone connects and all looksOK, but iTunes cannot connect to it.

The solution that works for many people is to disable Windows 7 USB power management.

Disable USB Power Management in Windows 7
1. Start -> Run-> type devmgmt.msc
2. Right click the USB Root Hub device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers and then click properties
3. Under the Advanced tab uncheck the box next to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"-> OK -> Restart PC
