Lost CD/DVD drives in windows 7

Postby hiram » Tue Nov 24, 2009 2:52 pm

I have recently installed 7 and really like it very much. But I encountered one problem that I have lost CD/DVD drives and they are not visible. I am able to see in my hardwares they both contain a yellow triangle and that the digital signatures are not signed but I cannot play from them. Any ideas how to fix this?

There is a utility that I had used when I lost my cd or dvd drive on vista. Its "xp_cd_dvd_fix.vbs. It may fix the issue on Win7

Try this
1) Connect to the Internet
2) Go into Device Manager
3) Right Mouse Click against the device(s) with the yellow exclamation mark
4) Update Driver -- on the prompt click the option that says CONNECT TO INTERNET TO SEARCH FOR DRIVER
