In order to assure PC buyers, Microsoft has recently started certifying PCs as ‘compatible with Windows 7. Previously Microsoft certified PCs could only run Vista Home Basic but now PCs will need to work with all versions of Windows 7 such as 64-bit versions of the OS. Microsoft has unveiled that products that get the logo are checked for common problems to reduce the crashes, hangs, and reboots experienced by the windows users. Now the requirements for getting the Windows 7 compatibility label are stricter– partially to increase acceptance of 64bit systems, and partially to avoid the mistakes Microsoft faced with the Vista logo.
