Not able to play BluRay on windows 7

Postby duncan » Fri Sep 11, 2009 12:55 pm

I am not able to play BluRay on windows 7. I get the following error message
"To play this DVD, you must first install a playback application that supports Blu-ray Disc."
How to solve this issue?

If you want to play BluRay on windows 7, then you have to buy third party software such as total Media Theater or PowerDVD.

The number of people who would use Windows 7 to play Blu-Ray movies can definitely be ignored at this point, as many hardware Blu-Ray players are expensive and not fully compatible with all Blu-Ray features.

You have to install the codec’s for Blu-Ray. Blu-ray drive comes with media containing the codec’s. You can also search for free Blu-ray codec’s online.

Third Party Software can cause serious issues

Postby lars » Thu Sep 24, 2009 5:36 pm

Third Party Software can cause serious issues such as booting problem. Microsoft cannot assure that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be fixed. So you can use Third Party Software at your own risk.
