After installing windows 7, the first thing I was checking is whether there is mail client or not. But I was not able to find mail client. Then I installed a third-party app such as ThunderBird. After installing ThunderBird I tried to import the settings from the previous mail client but without any luck. I have also searched on Google about some information regarding what should I do. Without any success… So I went to Microsoft website and searched there. But again the same problem exists.

Windows Mail is no longer included in Windows 7 but your e-mail files and settings will still be available after the upgrade. To send and receive e-mail you will have to download a new e-mail program. You can get e-mail programs from the Microsoft official website.

If you are looking for a mail client that will know how to import your old settings, then I really suggest you to download Windows Live Mail.

If you want my opinion about Windows Live Mail, then I can say it rocks. It is really very faster than its predecessors and it offers good features.

Microsoft has deleted Windows Mail from Windows7, maybe due to all these anti-trust lawsuits from competitors.
