Here are the steps to update Windows 7 to RC from a beta version
1. Download the ISO of Windows 7 RC from Microsoft website.
2. Burn the ISO to a DVD.
3. Copy all whole image from the DVD to a USB drive using xcopy X:\*.* /s/e/f J:\ (where X: is the letter of the DVD, and J: the USB key).
4. Open the file cversion.ini in a notepad and locate the line with the value MinClient (7077) and change it to 7000 as it is the beta version build number.
5. Save the file.
6. Run the installation of Windows 7 by using the method update
