The Action Center is Windows new security and maintenance system. Action Center automatically monitors your computer without you having to do anything. Whenever there is a problem a balloon will pop up in the bottom right of your screen to notify and inform you of the actions necessary to find a resolution. Click the balloon to begin the troubleshooting process.

Although, you are not obligated to click the balloon immediately, but the Action center will remind with icon that resembles a "flag". When your computer has issues, there will be a red box containing an "x" to remind you the computer is in an unhealthy state. You can also click the flag to view details about your problem.

To begin solving the problem, click Open Action Center. The Action Center uses colored bars to express the level of severity of each issue. A yellow bar would indicate a minor problem or a problem that doesn't need attention right away. The red bar is for more complex, behind the scenes problems. In addition to the bars, there are links to important messages regarding your problem and links to begin the troubleshooting process.

To troubleshoot a problem using Action Center, follow the steps below:

1. Click the Start button.
2. Type "action" into the Search Box.
3. Click Action Center.
4. Scroll down, click Troubleshooting. (If there are any problems, they will appear in a list form.)
5. Click on your specific problem.

Windows will scan your computer for reasons why you are having this problem and also find the solution. If Windows cannot fix the problem, now that you know exactly what the problem is and what caused it, you will be better prepared to address it.
