If you enjoy talking with your friends on Windows Messenger, the Windows 7 team has made it their priority to make sure that you can easily access your application at all times from your Taskbar (compliments of Windows Live Essentials. For those who do not use the program on a constant basis, there is the infamous system tray. To do this you must first close the messenger and via shortcut properties, command the messenger to run in Windows Vista compatibility mode. This should handle your problem.
