Windows XP Mode: Windows 7's XP Mode can be the solution to the application compatibility issues. This mode runs XP in a virtual machine inside windows 7 and XP and 7 applications appear together on the same desktop.
XP mode requires a CPU with virtualization capabilities and minimum of 2 GB RAM. Go through the Microsoft's page of instructions on how to make out whether your CPU has virtualization capabilities and, if it has, then how to enable. XP It it's available as a free download.

Not all-modern processors support virtualizations

Not all-modern processors support virtualizations just hope Microsoft will release more specific hardware requirements for XP Mode soon.
Microsoft includes a full license of Windows XP SP3 with Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate for use with XP Mode.
