Google announced on their blog that they are going to release an operating system: Google Chrome OS. Will Google OS kill Windows 7? --The reality is that we do not know anything about Google Chrome OS. The Google OS news is hot out of the oven that leaves us with many unanswered questions such as how will it going to be different from Windows? How will it work? Can Google actually do what many think impossible: kill Microsoft on its home turf?. Google Chrome OS is based on the Linux Kernel, featuring a new windowing system. The objective is to have an OS that can boot and get you online in seconds, while most of the applications will be web-based. The new operating system will be lightweight and can run on x86 or ARM processors. And it makes sense, because many Google's applications are web-based such as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Talk, etc. What needs to be considered is whether or not Google Chrome OS will be able to run any desktop applications? The good news is that Microsoft finally has got some competition. As a result prices will decrease that is always a positive thing.
