Win7 x64 - ATI OpenGL

Win7 x64 - ATI OpenGL

Postby Eamon » Wed Jul 08, 2009 4:54 pm

I am having issues with OpenGL games in windows 7. When running any of the games such as such as Neverwinter Nights, Freespace, World of War craft, I get vertical flickering bars on the screen. I am pretty sure this is due to OpenGL games. I think the problem may stem from the fact that I am using Windows Vista x64 video card drivers and the included Open GL drivers might be incompatible.

The Windows 7 Beta display driver (Pre-release WDDM 1.0) did not have OpenGL.
I installed the Intel Vista 64 bit drivers for the 945GM Chipset, which installed OpenGL 1.4 and fixed my problem.

I also had this problem and fixed by installing the latest WDDM v1.1 driver. You could try updating your drivers.

OpenGL does not load when User Account Control (UAC) is enabled . I used to get an OpenGL error when I had User Account Control enabled. After I disabled it, it worked perfectly fine.
