Over the last couple of days I have been facing an issue with windows installer. It crashes every time I try to install something. Can anyone know how to fix this issue?

A hot fix for Windows 7 has been released for an installer that crashes while installing or updating specific programs.
Here is a workaround:
(1)Start -->All Programs-->Accessories--> Rt. click on “Command Prompt--> Run as administrator
(2)In the User Access Control window, make sure that program name is Windows Command Processor
(3)In the Administrator: Command Prompt window paste the following command
reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions /va /f
(4)Press Enter
If you get an error message "ERROR: Access is denied", then repeat the steps from top and make sure you clicked Run as administrator

You have to make sure you're running it as administrator.
