Windows 7 stops up at "Completing Installation"

Windows 7 stops up at "Completing Installation"

Postby lambert » Tue Dec 29, 2009 5:15 pm

I tried to install windows 7 many times with the same result. The Upgrade runs until the last stage and then stops. I looked at the logs but could not see any errors. How to fix this issue?

Please ensure sure that there are no hardware conflicts during Windows 7 installations;

Unplug all USB devices (except keyboard and mouse)
Disconnect multi-monitor connections (just use the main connection)
Try/test different memory modules
Check video cards

One thing that can be causing this issue is if you have any USB devices plugged in. During installation and system boot, please ensure nothing is connected until you complete boot into Windows 7. After you are in Windows 7, then plug in the USB devices, and the OS will automatically install the important drivers required.
